  ASM 2003

Meeting Overview

The 2003 LTER Information Managers meeting will take place on September 22, 2003, in Seattle, Washington immediately following the LTER All-Scientists Meeting (ASM). The morning session will include briefings on recent LTER strategic planning initiatives, group discussions on a range of related topics, and opportunities to interact with invited guests. The afternoon session will focus on topics of concern to LTER Information Managers, such as site review standards, EML metadata migration progress and barriers, and the annual IM Committee business meeting.

All participants are asked to register on this web site by August 15, 2003, so that adequate meeting space can be secured. Site representatives to the IM Committee are also asked to contribute a short "Site Byte" report prior to the meeting, describing IM activities at their LTER site during the past year.

Due to the short time allotted for this year's meeting, all participants are strongly urged to familiarize themselves with the reference materials and planning documents provided on this web site prior to attending the meeting. This preparation will provide a common frame of reference and help make the most of our discussion time and break-out groups.
