Meeting Overview

The 2005 LTER Information Managers meeting will take place August 4-7, 2005, in Montréal, Canada. The meeting immediately preceeds the 90th ESA Annual Meeting and IX International Congress of Ecology (INTECOL). A draft agenda for the meeting was posted on June 30, 2005. Please forward any suggestions or comments regarding the agenda to Barbara Benson (NTL), the IMExec chairperson. Information about air travel, hotel reservations, and Montréal area attractions is posted on the Logistics page.

All participants will be asked to register on this web site in advance so that adequate meeting space can be secured. Site representatives to the IM Committee will also be asked to contribute a short "Site Byte" report prior to the meeting, describing IM activities at their LTER site during the past year and also including a paragraph describing EML implementation progress or plans. In addition, working group leaders and presenters will be asked to upload relevant briefing files or web links prior to the meeting using the file upload and web link upload forms on the meeting web site.

All participants are also strongly urged to familiarize themselves with the reference materials and planning documents provided on this web site prior to attending the meeting. The focus of the 2005 meeting will be product-oriented working groups, and this preparation will provide a common frame of reference for group discussions and help make our working group sessions productive.
