Real-time Station Status Reports

» Marsh Landing Climate Station

Recent reports:

4/15/2007-4/17/2007: Station was toppled during a storm so no data were recorded during this period

Prior reports:

10/2/2006: Total PAR naming problem resolved - prior raw and processed data edited accordingly

8/10/2006: Total PAR apparently reported as Total Solar radiation in NOAA HADS data stream - situation is under investigation (data arrays interpreted as total PAR in portal data sets)

8/4/2006-8/10/2006: Total PAR sensor offline

8/3/2006: Automatic 2 hr data harvests resumed (data now acquired from NOAA HADS data server instead of direct modem download)

6/22/2006-7/5/2006: Station taken offline for data logger and communications upgrade (real-time data harvests suspended until communications are re-established and new data access protocols are developed)

2/8/2005-2/12/2005: Remote data harvesting interrupted due to communications problems with the station

6/6/2004-8/19/2004: Relative humidity sensor out of calibration (numerous >100% readings)

4/8/2004-5/14/2004: Air temperature/humidity sensor offline for repair

11/20/2003: Uploaded revised program to begin logging total solar radiation data (LiCor pyranometer online); data logger interruption from 12:00-20:00 GMT

11/10/2003: Brief data logger interruption during station maintenance (12:00-19:15 GMT)

7/25/2003-7/28/2003: The station stopped logging data after a program update, so all data is missing from 7/25/2003 23:00 through 7/28/2003 17:15 GMT

6/3/2003-6/23/2003: Precipitation values are suspect based on comparison with NWS/UGAMI and NADP gauges on Sapelo and based on observations of bird droppings occluding the rain gauge orifice (cleaned on 6/23)

6/1/2003: Station was offline from 6/1/03 22:30 EST to 6/2/03 7:30 EST (more power problems suspected)

5/20/2003: Power and communications problems resolved, partial data acquired for 5/16-5/20

5/16/2003: Communications lost to the station

5/13/2003: The station began experiencing periodic interruptions in data logging late at night that resolved spontaneously by mid-morning (solar panel or battery problems suspected and under investigation)

» Hudson Creek/Meridian Landing Climate/Hydrographic Station

Recent reports:

4/24/2007-4/26/2007: Air temp, Wind and O2 measurements were not report. Also, station was serviced on 4/24 and data processing protocols for Salinity were revised.

Prior reports:

2/2/2007-2/28/2007: Wind and air temp and pressure sensors failed after a freezing event - sensors replaced

9/3/2006-1/3/2007: Wind sensor offline and no wind data are available - replaced with a new unit

6/23/2006-6/26/2006: Station offline and no data are available during the outage

3/9/2006-4/1/2006: Dissolved oxygen sensor offline

8/23/2005-?: Anemometer data contains periodic spikes to 30m/s (maximum value)

9/20/2005-9/23/2005: Air temperature sensor offline or data not available

9/15/2005-9/23/2005: Oxygen sensor offline or data not available

8/14/2005-8/23/2005: No data available due to instrumentation problems at the station

2/12/2005-2/21/2005 : Remote data harvesting interrupted - real-time data temporarily not available from the USGS database for this station

2/10/2005: 5 hour interruption in data due to hydrographic instrument swap

8/28/2004-9/1/2004: Dissolved oxygen sensor offline

6/26/2004-6/30/2004: No data was recorded for unspecified reasons

12/13/2003-12/17/2003: All sensors except air temperature were offline due to an unspecified problem

5/15/2003-12/13/2003: Dissolved oxygen readings suspect (continuously <60% or >110% saturation, with most values flagged as questionable)

5/15/2003: Dissolved oxygen readings shifted downwards (many readings flagged as <60% saturation)

5/10/2003: Dissolved oxygen readings shifted abruptly upwards (some readings flagged as >110% saturation)

1/24/2003-2/27/2003: Oxygen sensor offline
