2018 Schoolyard a success

The 2018 GCE LTER Schoolyard was a tremendous success this year with 16 enthusiastic participants. There were 8 returning participants, 8 newbies and more projects than ever. Projects included a new study in the Cypress Swamps of the Altamaha, fish bioacoustics, and “hidden heroes” of the salt marsh. All on board even helped with the new community garden in Hog Hammock. When asked “What is your favorite part?” one participant said, “All of it! I enjoyed being able to work with researchers in the field and do real, first-hand science! I’m excited to take these opportunities back to my students!”.
