Flux tower boardwalk replacement underway
Greetings from Sapelo! Behold, the beginnings of a new (recycled) and improved boardwalk to the flux tower! Field technicians John and Jonah have taken on the enormous task of retreiving sections of the old boardwalk that had been washed away and dispersed throughout the surrounding area by hurricanes Matthew and Irma, modifying the sections to better withstand future storms, and reinstalling them at the flux tower. It's about 1/4 of the way complete, and it's looking great! Be on the lookout for calls for volunteers to help with installation!
