2023 GCE Schoolyard Workshop
The 2023 GCE LTER Schoolyard was a great success this year, with 13 enthusiastic educators participating from across Georgia to assist GCE scientists with their research on Sapelo from July 9-14th. There were 7 returning participants, 6 new folks, and lots of interesting projects. Projects included studies of creek bank slump blocks, marsh plant-microbe interactions, mud snail parasites, and salt marsh recovery from disturbance. A huge thank you to all the researchers and educators, and especially to Venetia Butler, for making this workshop a rewarding experience for all.
