Mangrove crabs Aratus pisonii continue to be present on Sapelo

The mangrove crab Aratus pisonii has been expanding its distribution northwards from Florida well ahead of the mangroves that it normally inhabits. In GA, it has been seen on the pilings of boardwalks and docks, and also in the salt marsh. The University of Wisconsin graduate class that visited Sapelo in October 2021 was able to find them easily. How will this range expansion change salt marsh ecology?
