<title>Project Goals</title>
<para>We would like to deploy 7 bottom mount frames with oceanographic equipment that will be used to monitor the extent of the Altamaha River plume, coastal flow, temperature and salinity characteristics at 7 locations in the Georgia coastal domain. Frames will be submerged in the center of the channel in Altamaha, Doboy and Sapelo Sounds at the bottom at depths of ~8m. Two other mooorings will be offshore Sapelo Island at the 10 m isobath and another two moorings at the 20 m isobath (see attached figure). A surface buoy will mark the location of the moorings which will be made visible to boaters. The moorings will be left in place over a period of 1 year and serviced quarterly with the research vessel (RV) Savannah.</para>
