Briefly describe the project goals and methodology
Determine the seasonal variation in ammonia oxidizer abundance in the Duplin River. Collect samples from the dock at Marsh Landing, take them to the lab, filter them, freeze the filter, use qPCR to measure abundance. Also collect samples for DIN analyses
Where will the project be located?
UGAMI, UGA
How will you provide GPS coordinates for study sites?
GPS coordinates are already registered in the GCE-LTER database
What are the expected start and end dates of the project?
Start Date: 04/15/2004 End Date: (ongoing)
How many people will access the site and at what frequency?
one person, once per week
Please list keywords (as many as are appropriate) that describe your project:
What equipment will be deployed in the field?
none
Will plants or animals be collected as part of this study?
protozoa, phytoplankton
What are the likely impacts of the project on the site?
water samples/plankton
Will the project design include boardwalks? If not, explain why not.
no
How long will impacts persist after the research is concluded?
23 nanoseconds or less
