Briefly describe the project goals and methodology

Measure creekbank seepage using screened PVC pipes operating as piezometers and a PVC seepage organ; measurement of pressure gradients between creekbank porewater and creek; measurement of dissolved inorganic carbon concentrations and CDOM; there will be two sites, with 2 piezometers and 2 seepage organs, within an area of approx. 4 m2 each. Jacob and Caroline are scouting out the exact sites, because a suitable creek bank is required, but access will most likely be via boat

Where will the project be located?

flux tower area; near N31 26'32'' and W81 17'10''

How will you provide GPS coordinates for study sites?

I will provide a provisional map and arrange with my sponsor to collect and register GPS coordinates

What are the expected start and end dates of the project?

Start Date:  07/22/2013 End Date:  07/25/2013

How many people will access the site and at what frequency?

1 person, once a day

Please list keywords (as many as are appropriate) that describe your project:

Habitat type: creek

Measurements: pressure

Study theme: hydrography

Likely long-term impacts of the study: no long-term impacts

What equipment will be deployed in the field?

a couple of PVC pipes

Will plants or animals be collected as part of this study?

no

What are the likely impacts of the project on the site?

a few holes from PVC and impact from walking to and from the site

Will the project design include boardwalks? If not, explain why not.

no, no need for long-term structures; might make use of existing boardwalks

How long will impacts persist after the research is concluded?

2 weeks
