Description

This LiDAR-derived data was collected by the Joint Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise using the Compact Hydrographic Airborne Rapid Total Survey (CHARTS) system. The data includes hydrographic and topographic data and were collected to depict the elevations above and below water along the immediate coastal zone at 3 m resolution. The survey generally extends 750 meters inland and up to 1500 meters over the water (depending on water depth and clarity) and this subset extends from the Sapelo Sound south to Saint Simons Island. The goal of the project is to collect data covering the shoreline of the conterminous United States where feasible. The project is lead by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

This zip archive contains an ESRI GRID file and associated metadata. We recommend saving the contents to a new, empty folder. A jpeg image of the data set is also available for download/viewing.
