Flume Dock Climate Station

separator

The Flume Dock station was located near the Moses Hammock Hunt Camp on western Sapelo Island within the GCE10 sampling area.  This station was operated by the University of Georgia Marine Institute between 1986 and 2005.  From 1995-2000 funding was also provided by the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve program (SINERR), and data from this period can be obtained from the NERR Centralized Data Management Office.

Note that the weather station and platform were destroyed by a tornado in 2005 and not replaced. Also note that the GCE program installed a SBE MicroCAT sonde at this location in July 2003, which remains operational.
