Title: Radon Surveys in the Duplin River near Sapelo Island, Georgia from July 2016
Abstract: This study measured dissolved radon-222 in transects upstream throughout the Duplin River. Radon serves as a tracer of groundwater discharge into the surface water, so this survey was conducted to assess spatial patterns of groundwater input into the Duplin River. Radon counts were integrated over 10 minute counting cycles, so lateral resolution of the survey is determined by the boat speed. Transects were begun at high tide and at low tide during both spring and neap tide.
