Title: Soil accretion at 10 GCE marsh sampling sites from December 2001 to May 2011
Abstract: The accretion of soil was measured in tidal marshes at 10 GCE-LTER sampling sites from December 2001 to May 2011. Feldspar marker layers were deposited in 0.25m by 0.25m quadrats in the marsh plain at each site in December 2001, then replicate soil cores were removed at approximately 6 month intervals to measure accretion above the marker layer. This study is part of the GCE sediment monitoring program, and was conducted to evaluate the effects of freshwater input on soil accretion.
